We provide the pathology services for our acute hospitals and also local GPs. Some of our laboratories also offer specialist services to the wider NHS and also work on research studies.

BCPS is one of the most mature pathology networks in the Country, serving the people of Black Country and West Birmingham.

Blood Transfusion Offers a 24 hour service for routine and urgent provision of blood and blood components.Find out more

Clinical Chemistry Specialising in analysing blood and other bodily fluids in order to assess the balance of the body’s metabolic processes. Find out more

Microbiology The test repertoire offered includes faecal parasites, bacteriology, virology and fungal culture. Find out more

Immunology Involves measuring components such as antibodies, cells and proteins which are involved in the diagnosis of autoimmune disease, allergy and immunodeficiency.Find out more

Cytology Examining both gynaecological samples i.e. Primary HPV cervical screening specimens and non-gynaecological samples. Find out more

Cellular Pathology The microscopic examination of tissue and cells in order to study the manifestations of the disease. Find out more

Point of Care Testing (POCT) Includes glucose, blood gas, INR, cholesterol, hCG and urinalysis testing. Find out more
