Our Trust is holding two nursing recruitment events with successful candidates receiving on-the-spot job offers.
Staff from Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust will be on hand to talk about the exciting opportunities available within the organisation’s Medicine and Emergency Care department on Saturday 2 November, and Surgical Services on Saturday 9 November.
The Trust is behind the super hospital development, the Midland Met, in Smethwick which will open in 2022, following Government sign off. The state-of-the-art facility will boast the biggest Emergency Department in Europe and will house both acute and surgical wards.
Both events will be held at the Education Centre, Sandwell Hospital, West Bromwich, between 10am and 2pm.
Medicine and Emergency Care – 2 November
At the 2 November event candidates will be able to learn about the opportunities within the medical and emergency departments around flexible working hours, which include permanent nights and weekend shifts as well as 7.5 hour shifts.
Nina Faraon, has been a staff nurse at Sandwell Hospital for 19 years and works 7.5 hour shifts.
She said: “I really enjoy working at the Trust within the stroke ward. We care for very ill patients and it is very fulfilling to see them nursed back to health and able to return home. I currently work flexible hours which allows me to spend time with my 11-year-old daughter and achieve the perfect work/life balance.”

Reif Henry (pictured top left) is a charge nurse, also at Sandwell Hospital, who has been with the Trust three years.
He said: “I was a staff nurse for about 18 months, and I was encouraged and supported to apply for a charge nurse position which I’m now in. Since then I’ve received support from my ward manager and been able to utilise the in-house training that the Trust offers which has enabled me to enhance my knowledge and skills.”
