We want to deliver continuity of care, supporting patients in their own home wherever that is possible. With that in mind, we are working hard to make this a more successful winter, with fewer delays and cancellations; to raise morale and engagement among those who work for us; to make our investments truly effective as we prepare for the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital; with our local Clinical Commissioning Group to deliver more care closer to home as we take the best of community nursing in Sandwell and make it our norm; and to build on our ground-breaking work in regeneration and apprenticeships.
The best of what we do is outstanding. We are determined to make that standard what we do at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust.

AGM 2023
The success of the Virtual Wards Service which delivers specialist hospital care at home to patients was the topic at the online annual general meeting (AGM).
Currently the Trust has adult, palliative care and children’s Virtual Wards which all offer a high standard of care from specialist nurses and consultants with constant monitoring.
The focus was on how the concept is leading to better outcomes for patients and saving on hospital bed days.
