The Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust (SWBH) Star Awards, recognise the brilliant work that our 7500 staff carry out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at our hospitals and in the Community.
SWBH Star Awards is the Trust’s annual award to celebrate the exceptional work of teams and individuals in providing excellent care to patients. This year, the Trust received more than 200 nominations from staff and patients for 18
categories. The awards, held on Friday 14th October 2016 at Aston Villa Football Club, were hosted by Birmingham comedian Andy White and were attended by The Deputy Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Ray Hassal, and the Worshipful the Mayor of Sandwell Councillor Julie Webb.
Toby Lewis, Chief Executive at the Trust, said: “It is always humbling to work alongside such outstanding and compassionate individuals and teams. The Star Awards is a wonderful way to say thank you to them, and to their families, for the work they do on behalf of local people. There is real excellence in our Trust, and a commitment to learn from successes as well as errors. I hope local residents share my pride in the colleagues that work in our organisation.”
