Residents urged to give feedback on NHS Trust car parking plans

22nd Oct 2019

An NHS Trust is inviting residents and staff to have their say on plans to improve parking at two hospitals.

Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust is planning to build two multi-storey car parks at Birmingham-based City Hospital and Sandwell Hospital in West Bromwich, which will be used by staff, patients and visitors.

The City multi-storey would house 550 spaces whilst the West Bromwich site would have 400 spaces. Both would mean an increase in parking facilities for all using the hospitals. The Trust is collating feedback so that it can help to develop the plans ahead of the documents being submitted to both Sandwell Council and Birmingham City Council.

It is hoped that if the proposal is approved by the planning committees, work will start in April 2020 and be completed 12 months later.

The cost of parking will not increase as a result of the new developments.

To share your feedback on the plans, email swbh.comms@nhs.net before 1 November.
