Members of the public will get the chance to tweet their questions about end of life care to a specialist from a West Midlands hospital.
Dr Anna Lock, Palliative Medicine Consultant, will be taking questions and tweeting news around end of life care services at Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust.
Dr Lock said: “We hope to engage and inform the public on the vital work that is being done at the Trust to give people at the end of their lives real choices and high quality care.”
She will be taking questions on all aspects of end of life and palliative care.
Dr Lock added: “I will be giving information on how we ensure that sensitive conversations are had with patients reaching the end of their lives, to make sure they and their families are well-informed and that their wishes are known by clinicians who are caring for them.
“We would also like people to know the care that is available to make sure that people are comfortable, including pain control, both at home and in hospital.”
People are invited to ask questions using #SWBHjustask from 3-4pm on Thursday 1 August.
This is one of a number of ‘Twitter Surgeries’ that Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust have done this year, giving people the chance to put their questions to a clinician without having to book an appointment.
