A new custom-made audiology clinic has officially opened in Sutton Coldfield offering patients improved hearing test facilities.
The new venue at James Preston Health Centre, in Holland Road, has replaced the existing clinic at Boldmere Health Centre, run by Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust, and opened on 10 July.
The Holland Road-based clinic has taken over all the services previously operated at Boldmere, including the drop-in service for broken hearing aids, the hours for which remain unchanged.
The move comes after the existing facility was deemed no longer fit for purpose having become ‘old and tired’.
Claire Lingard, Senior Clinical Scientist for Audiology said: “There is no loss of service and we will continue to see both adults and children at James Preston, offering drop-in hearing aid repair sessions. However, the service will now be provided in custom-made audiology rooms, which are part of a brand new facility and include a soundproof booth and consulting rooms. These changes provide both a better environment for patients and more accurate hearing test facilities.”
Free parking is available at the health centre on a first-come first-served basis, with additional parking available at a nearby pay and display car park on Duke Street.
Patients can contact the clinic on 0121 507 5417 or check the Trust website for further information at www.swbh.nhs.uk.
